Dozens of Chickens Escape Into New York Street

Chickens aren’t exactly the first thing you think of when you imagine New York City. Dozens of live chickens escaped onto the streets of Brooklyn when the doors of a cargo truck opened up during transit.

The New York Police Department reported that the rear doors of the truck started spilling caged chickens into the roadway on Old Fulton Street in Brooklyn, New York. The chickens continued to fall from the truck for around two blocks, with some of the cages even opening up along the way.

Police decided it was best to briefly stop traffic on the road while officers and workers worked to gather up the cages and chase after any runaway birds.

The chickens were removed from the roadway and taken to a secure location. Strangely, the poultry truck driver was nowhere to be found after the incident.
