Terry Gilliam went from being “the other guy” in Monty Python to becoming one of the most inventive visionary directors of the late 20th century and it all started with 1981’s “Time Bandits,” one of the most unnervingly brilliant movies ever conceived.
Eleven-year-old Kevin is taken out of his boring British existence and whisked away on a journey through time with a group of bumbling dwarves. They’ve stolen a map of the universe from The Supreme Being, and they’re going to embark on a whirlwind crime spree… that is unless The Evil One can find them first.
Featuring an all-star cast of cameos, clever absurdist comedy and some truly ingenious set pieces, this is a movie that must be seen to be believed.
