Trains Delayed by Bull on Tracks at New Jersey’s Penn Station

Commuting can be stressful with regular delays so adding an escaped bull to the mix really doesn’t help. Commuters at Penn Station in New Jersey were delayed for around 45 minutes when an escaped bull made its way onto the train tracks.

Authorities reported that the bull escaped at about 10:30 a.m. from a location near Newark International Airport. The bovine trotted down the NJ Transit tracks to Penn Station to see what the trains were all about.

NJ Transit posted on X about the updated rail service, saying: “NJ TRANSIT rail service is subject to up to 45 minute delays between Newark Penn and PSNY, due to Police activity near Newark Penn Station.”

The bull eventually fled back toward the airport using the tracks but in order to get it safely home, Newark and Port Authority police officers cornered the animal in a fenced lot and shot it with a tranquilizer. A local animal sanctuary was contacted to transport and care for the bull.
