Who would’ve thought that stealing scented candles would be such a lucrative business? Two siblings from Texas have been arrested for their roles in connection to what they’ve called an organized theft ring.
The Lake Worth Police Department confirmed that 19-year-old Dexter Goynes and 22-year-old Destiny Goynes were accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of scented candles and other merchandise from a Lake Worth retail store.
Dexter was spotted at the store on February 27, 2023, before taking off in his vehicle. Police managed to pull him over and arrest him in the Oaks neighborhood of Forth Worth, Texas.
Officers also later arrested his sister in connection to the case and recovered dozens of candles. Both have been charged with engaging in organized criminal activity but officers are still looking for a third suspect involved in the theft ring.
The stolen candles recovered from the siblings have since been returned to the store.
