Woman Finds 50,000 Bees Behind Walls in Toddler’s Bedroom

If you ever hear a distant buzz in your home, it might be worth checking out. A woman discovered 50,000 bees behind the walls in her toddler’s bedroom after she started complaining about a sound she was hearing.

Ashley Class said that her daughter first started complaining about “monsters” in her bedroom. Since Class wasn’t exactly sure what her three-year-old was talking about, she gave her a water bottle, which she was told was “monster spray.”

Months later, Class started seeing swarms of bees circling around the chimney. She called pest control and found that a hive of 50,000 honeybees was living in her home. It’s estimated that it took the bees eight months to create such a massive hive and it’s believed that they were able to get in through a hole in a clay pipe located in the chimney.

Class posted her discovery to TikTok with the caption: “When your daughter has been hearing ‘monsters’ in the walls. Turns out it was 50,000 bees buzzing.”

That wasn’t the end of the story though. Several extractions later, a whole new hive was discovered, bringing the total amount of bees in Class’s farmhouse to 60,000.

Getting the bees removed wasn’t cheap either. Class said that home insurance won’t cover the costs of the damage and believes the bees have resulted in her being around $20,000 out of pocket.
