In this situation, a woman bought a 1998 Ford Escort which she’ll be paying $289 a month for the next 84 months. Not only is she paying $200 a month for the car but she’s also going to be doing so for almost a decade.
Anyone with an ounce of common sense would know that’s a bad deal. This woman’s new-used car probably can’t be worth much more than $1,500. While it’s a bonus that the total monthly payment is less than $300 a month for her car, the car is already twenty-five years old.
It’s speculated that the purchase came about as a result of the woman getting money back during tax season. Although she might be excited about the car, her wallet might be hurting once she realizes the mess she got into.
