Usually, random objects don’t fall from the sky. There was a slight change after a door from an airplane fell from the sky onto the roof of a store in Fort Myers, Florida.
Lee County Sheriff’s Office and Iona McGregor Fire District responded to Leaders Furniture and found the black door lying on the roof. The Iona McGregor Fire District posted on Facebook about the incident after they were called to the store on the morning of August 2, 2023.
“This morning, Truck 74, along with Lee County Sheriff’s Office deputies, responded to Leaders Furniture of Fort Myers in reference to aircraft door falling on the store’s roof,” the fire department wrote.
The store, located on Cleveland Avenue, did no report any damage to the building itself. Crews were able to remove the door but at this time, it’s unknown which aircraft the door actually belongs to.
