Gas Station Rejects Customers That Arrive on Foot

The phrase “no shoes, no shirt, no service” has been around for many years and has become a popular way for businesses to be able to regulate their patrons. It’s also opened the doors for some strange rules from business owners, including a gas station in Arizona that had a sign on its door that banned anyone without a vehicle from entering the business.

A user on TikTok shared a video of a sign he discovered on the door of a gas station in Tuscon, Arizona. The sign read: “No walkers allowed. Must arrive in vehicle to enter store. We have the right to refuse service to anyone.”

While many cities across the United States are largely designed around cars, there are many other modes of transportation that people use to get around. Banning those people just because they don’t own a vehicle is wrong.

People were quite upset about the sign online. One person wrote: “That’s illegal,” while another added: “Clearly they wanna say homeless people.”

Regardless of the owner’s reason, putting the sign up was certainly an interesting tactic to attract more customers to the store.
