MLB Team Hosts Dog Night the Same Night as Fireworks

No dog night is complete without a massive fireworks show to frighten the dogs with sensitive ears.

The Miami Marlins hosted their annual “Bark in the Park” promotion where Marlins fans bring their furry companions to LoanDepot Park to enjoy a baseball game.

The idea was commendable until guests soon realized there was another special event scheduled for the same night. As part of the Independence Day celebrations, there were fireworks that was marketed as the “ultimate fireworks show.”

The team had shared an alert for fans that informed them of the fireworks show that would begin 15 minutes after the game ended. Owners with dogs that are spooked by loud noises had a few minutes to make their escape before a night to remember turned into a nightmare for the canines.

Fifteen minutes wasn’t enough time to make the exit. Some dogs had to tolerate the discomfort and sit in terror while the show proceeded. Although the dogs’ eardrums may have taken a hit, lucky pet owners walked away with season tickets and new merchandise.

Even though free stuff may have shut the mouths of concerned dog owners, online users couldn’t wrap their heads around the poor timing of events. “Whoever scheduled this must be a cat person,” one person wrote.

“This is by far the stupidest thing I’ve heard of all week, and boy, have there have been some dumb things going on this week,” another added.
