Telephone Company Redirects Telemarketers to Robots

Telemarketers usually call at the worst times and getting rid of them can kill a few precious minutes from the day. The Jolly Roger telephone company came up with a unique solution to avoid dealing with telemarketers by redirecting the unnecessary calls to the robots.

The phone users can dodge the calls since the system redirects calls from marketers to a robot that will communicate with the marketer. People no longer need to struggle with a persuasive marketer on the other line and they can eliminate the need to find an excuse to cut the sales agent off.

The product was brought to life by Roger Anderson and Steve Berkson. Anderson is a telephone engineer and Berkson has experience working in the telecommunication industry for 30 years. Anderson felt inspired to find a solution after he overheard a telemarketer swear at his son and racked his brains to stop the phone abuse.

The Jolly Roger software functions by redirecting calls from numbers with poor reviews to their answering service. Some companies use over thousands of honeypot numbers and when a marketer contacts these numbers, they will be given a negative reputation score. Then the Jolly Roger answering software deals with the numbers that have bad reputation scores.

The Jolly Roger records all the calls for future reference and the phone owner can replay these calls on the company’s website.

The partners have managed to earn an annual revenue of $150,000 to $200,000. The company offers prizes for competition on their social media page and they have their own line of clothing available for purchase on their website.

The company was also featured on Shark Tank so they do have good media exposure and a growing clientele. Their efforts might be the saving grace for the frustrated call recipients.
