Three TSA Officers Arrested at Miami Airport After Stealing From Passengers

People in a position of authority aren’t always obeying the laws. Three Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers were arrested at Miami International Airport (MIA) after they were caught stealing from passengers during security screenings.

The trio worked together to scam the passengers and they were busted by the detectives. According to court documents, 22-year-old Elizabeth Fuster, 33-year-old Labarrius Williams and 20-year-old Josue Gonzalez were all arrested following their collective fraudulent actions.

The airport federal security director for law enforcement reached out to a Miami-Dade Police detective after thefts that took place at Checkpoint E. The investigation exposed three officers on duty who were working together to distract passengers as they were being screened and stole money from their personal items. Surveillance footage captured the incident involving the TSA officers and victims.

After replaying the surveillance camera footage, the detective observed Fuster, Williams and Gonzalez steal $600 from a passenger’s wallet while they were being screened. They were teaming up to pull off more thefts in a similar way while passengers are baffled that their wallets are shrinking after the screening procedure.

Gonzalez and Fuster surrendered their rights and provided written statements confessing their actions. Williams didn’t waive his rights or plead guilty to the crimes.

All three were then “transported to the Airport Station to be processed before being sent to Turner Guildford Knight Detention Center without incident.”
