Kansas State Football Team Eats Pop-Tarts Mascot After Bowl Win

It’s college football bowl season, which means the wildest stunts to promote each game. After a game between Kansas State and North Carolina State, the winning Kansas State football team devoured the Pop-Tarts mascot in a bizarre publicity stunt.

The celebration occurred after the Kansas State Wildcats beat the North Carolina State Wolfpack 28-19 in the Pop-Tarts Bowl on December 28, 2023, at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. Fans and players took in the show as a Pop-Tarts mascot dropped into the toaster slot to be toasted to perfection.

Seconds later, an edible version of the mascot slid out of the front of the toaster. In a video shared on X, Wildcats coach Chris Klieman and his players scooped up handfuls of the frosted treat to top off the evening.

On the way to victory, Wildcats quarterback Avery Johnson threw two touchdown passes and ran for another score. Running back D.J. Giddens also logged 188 yards from scrimmage and two scores on 29 touches for the Wildcats in their Pop-Tarts Bowl win.
