Pilot Draws Penis in the Sky After Being Diverted From Airport

A pilot’s doodling in the sky got people scratching their heads due to the rude nature of the drawing.

A Lufthansa pilot drew a phallic-shaped flight path in the sky after being redirected from Catania airport in Sicily. Authorities said the Lufthansa pilot’s work was unintentional, adding that the plane attempted to land twice but was redirected because of high winds.

The pattern was around 15 miles long and was caught by aviation fans on FlightRadar24.

The aircraft left Frankfurt, Germany, and tried to land at Catania twice but it was diverted from the airport. The penis drawing was done after 16 minutes of circling in the sky and eventually returned to its planned flight route and towards Malta.

Local media outlets speculated that the pilot was frustrated with the diversion and that the drawing was a way to protest the changes but officials were quick to clarify that it wasn’t intentional.

SAC, the company that manages the airport, has been blamed for the lagging response times and poor communication with airlines. SAC said that a sudden change in wind was the cause for this diversion. “Other planes also tried to land a first time but had failed so they had to go around and then they managed to do it,” SAC said.

Lufthansa said the strong winds made it “not possible to land safely in Catania.” “For this reason, the pilot had to remain in a holding position before once again trying to land which was not successful.”
