Imagine going to sleep at night and waking up to the feeling of a snake slithering under your mattress. An owner of a six-foot-long boa constrictor had to call firefighters when the animal escaped from its tank and became stuck in the bed springs of a mattress.
The West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service announced in a Facebook post that a crew responded to a call at a resident’s home in the U.K. to deal with the slippery situation that had unfolded.
Sid the snake was apparently stuck in the springs of its owner’s double mattress. How the snake managed to get itself into such a pickle is still unclear.
Thankfully, the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said a technical rescue officer named Ronnie was able to carefully remove Sid from the bed springs in a safe manner. WYFRS wrote in their Facebook post: “Animal rescues at WYFRS come in all shapes and Ssssss’sizes.
“Technical Rescue Officer Ronnie had a slippery situation to attend last week when Sid the boa constrictor escaped and got stuck in his owner’s bed springs! Luckily for Sid, Ronnie was up for the job and rescued the snake safely and, even convinced him for a Sss’selfie.”
