Cobra Dies After Being Bitten by Boy

Everyone speaks about snakes being deadly and venomous so we naturally avoid encounters with slimy snakes. Suppose the devil’s advocate states that kids are more deadly than snakes, would you budge in your beliefs?

In a strange turn of events, an eight-year-old boy in India bit a cobra snake to death after it got wrapped around his hand. While playing outside in his backyard, Deepak was bitten by a poisonous cobra. He recalled: “The snake got wrapped around my hand and bit me. I was in great pain. As the reptile didn’t budge when I tried to shake it off, I bit it hard twice. It all happened in a flash.”

Sometimes a little revenge could save a life. His family rushed the feisty boy to the nearest hospital and he was recovering well. “He was quickly administered anti-snake venom and kept under observation for the entire day and discharged,” said Dr. Jems Minj, block medical officer.

“Deepak didn’t show any symptoms and recovered fast owing to the dry bite when the poisonous snake strikes but no venom is released. Such snakebites are painful and may show only local symptoms around the area of the bite,” said Qaiser Hussain, a snake expert.

The snake’s life was in more danger than the young boy, as the reptile died shortly after. The snake venom got nothing on the boy’s sharp teeth.
