It’s not just humans that can overdue themselves while eating. A cobra bit off more than it could chew after trying to eat an entire snake whole. Spoiler alert: it didn’t work out.
The cobra in question was forced to regurgitate its delicious meal when it couldn’t find a way to digest it. The incident occurred in central India’s Madhya Pradesh, in Narmadapuram. A man was able to help the cobra along by holding its tail as it brought up the entire snake it had eaten whole hours earlier.
It’s unclear if the reptile attempted to try to eat the animal again once it had finished regurgitating.
A similar incident was caught on film in Georgia, United States, back in June 2022. A resident named Tom Slagle found two reptiles entwined near his mailbox. He eventually realized that one was actually eating the other.
An eastern kingsnake slowly moved its jaw down the body of a much larger timber rattlesnake. The rattlesnake never put up a fight, most likely indicating that the kingsnake had killed it before attempting to eat it. It truly is a snake-eat-snake world out there.
