Deputy Discovers Herd of Loose Goats on Roadway

Goats tend to stick together regardless of where their final destination may be. A sheriff’s deputy was put in an unusual situation when he was approached by a herd of missing goats.

Deputy Art Kleinert from the Bay County Sheriff’s Office was on patrol in Pinconning Township, Michigan, when he noticed the group of goats approach the rear of his patrol vehicle. He said there were about 10 goats that walked up to his car.

The Bay County Sheriff’s Office posted a video of Kleinert and the goats on Facebook. Kleinert used rope to create a makeshift leash for one of the animals. The others followed behind him and the lead goat.

“He had some rope in his car, and he noticed all the goats were following the biggest one so he got out and put the rope around that one’s neck,” Sheriff Troy R. Cunningham said.

Fortunately, the officer was able to find the owner of the animals and return them home safely.
