Most people who buy lottery tickets are eager to check their cards to see if any are a winner. One winner nearly forgot about her Powerball lotto ticket that was left in her purse for over a month. It turned out to be a $50,000 winner.
The St. Louis County, Missouri, woman bought the lottery ticket for the July 16, 2022, drawing at a Walmart in Manchester. After the purchase, she tucked the ticket into her purse where she left it sitting for over a month.
It wasn’t until she visited a store to check a different Powerball ticket that she remembered the slip of paper that was hidden away. Scanning it revealed that the July 16 ticket was worth a hefty sum of $50,000. “I am just so grateful and happy,” the winner said.
The registered nurse does have plans for the money. Some of the cash prize will go towards paying off her student loans, which will definitely make a dent. “It’s a good present for me,” she said.
