Getting to the Bottom of These Bleeding Bathroom Walls

No one expects to walk into their bathroom to find a blood-like substance pouring from the walls. That sounds eerily similar to a scene from The Amityville Horror but it was also what one woman experienced firsthand. Or so she thought.

Lexy Chidester initially thought the odd substance coming from the walls was a stain that was left by her brother. It was only until the next morning that she started asking some questions. By that point, the stain had doubled in size and the wall was literally “bleeding.”

Chidester decided to investigate the mystery herself by performing an at-home mould test kit. She also spoke to a plumber to get some more insight on what they thought might be causing the problem.

After several deep dives posted on TikTok, Chidester was able to come to a conclusion. When going to put the cabinet back into the wall, she noticed that pieces of metal were overlapped with more of the “coagulated blood” in the corner.

In order to get to the bottom of this mystery, Chidester and her brother used pliers to peel back the metal where they discovered a substance was coming from inside the metal. All in all, the bleeding walls were actually just caused by rust.

“It was explained to be that when condensation mixed with years of rust and no ventilation – my bathroom doesn’t have a fan – can cause rust in cold metal to liquefy; something I did not know before all this,” Chidester said.

Some of the comments on previous videos were pretty entertaining. One person commented: “Time to move.” A second added: “Your house is on its period.” Another wrote: “Your bathroom is ready for Halloween.”
