When two people are going on a road trip together, the buddy system is rather simple to carry out. Unfortunately, one man couldn’t even count to two and left his wife on the side of the road during their trip around Thailand.
Boontom Chaimoon and his wife Amnuay were returning to Maha Sarakham from a vacation in Bangkok on Christmas Day when the incident occurred. The 55-year-old man stopped on the side of the road to pee at around 3 a.m. Amnuay criticized Boontom’s decision by asking why he didn’t just stop at a gas station but when she heard no response from her husband, she went into the jungle to relieve herself as well.
The problems started when the man missed seeing her get out of the car. Instead, Boontom hopped in the vehicle and drove off, not realizing that his wife wasn’t there with him.
Clearly shocked that her husband had driven off without her, Amnuay started walking to get assistance. A couple of hours into her trek, she traveled around 12.4 miles to the Kabin Buri area. Shortly after, she contacted law enforcement about the situation.
Luckily, with the assistance of police officers, Amnuay was finally able to make contact with her husband. By that time, Boontom had traveled approximately 100 miles from where he had left her.
