KFC Employee Shot After Telling Customer About Corn Shortage

Would you kill someone for corn? If pulling the trigger for sweet corn sounds like a drastic move, it’s not out of the realm of possibilities for one hungry man. According to police reports, a man shot a Kentucky Fried Chicken employee in St. Louis when an order got out of control due to a limited corn supply. The customer wasn’t ready to take no for an answer.

The suspect was in the drive-thru of the restaurant when he tried to place an order and a worker let him know that the restaurant was out of corn. Upon hearing that, the customer was threatening the 25-year-old employee from the speaker box.

It wasn’t an empty threat. The suspect pulled up to a drive-thru window with a handgun and shot the employee when he went outside to talk with the driver. Pistols do the talking, as the worker returned to the restaurant with a gunshot wound.

The employee didn’t think dodging guns came with the job duties but always expect the unexpected. Based on police reports, the victim was in critical condition but he did stabilize and he is currently in the hospital due to the injuries.

The suspect escaped on an empty stomach after the gunfire. Police described the suspect “as a Black man, around 40-50 years of age and thin built with a scruffy beard. He was last seen wearing a blue jean jacket with a gray hood and sleeves.”

In the eyes of this suspect, corn may be worth someone’s life.
