Large Shark Lands on Fishing Boat

When out a sea hoping to catch some fish, most aren’t looking for a large shark to join the party. A group of fishermen were fishing off the coast of New Zealand when a shark jumped out of the water and landed on the front of their boat.

Ryan Churches, the owner of Churchys Charter NZ, was fishing for kingfish with his crew and five customers off the coast of Whitianga when a large mako shark took their bait. “We were fighting it normally and it was jumping around. I told the customers, ‘If it jumps in the boat get out of the way,'” Churches said.

Almost 30 seconds after mentioning the shark hopping onboard, the shark came flying out of the water. The fish landed on the bow of the vessel and the company managed to record a video, which was posted to its Facebook page.

The skipper said the shark managed to flop back into the water by itself after two minutes. “He got away safe. There’s nothing much we could do. We can’t go up the front to go near it because they go absolutely bonkers,” he said.
