Man Gets Two DUIs in One Night

Usually, if the police let you know you’re doing something wrong, most people would cut it out. A man didn’t get the memo when he was taken into custody twice in the same night for driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Lincoln Police in Nebraska confirmed that 26-year-old Joshua Steckley was pulled over for the first time at around 9:45 p.m. on February 27, 2023, in a traffic stop near 27th and E Streets. The stop saw Steckley taken into custody on suspicion of DUI with a blood alcohol content of .145.

The man was cited and was let go after someone sober picked him up and drove him home. After around four hours, Steckley crashed into a fence near 59th and Holdrege Streets driving the same car from earlier.

Officials said Steckley was still intoxicated at the time and blew a .204 BAC this go around. Fortunately, the man’s car was the only one involved in that crash and he was taken to jail over the incident. He was cited on suspicion of DUI, negligent driving and having no insurance.
