Motorcyclist Jailed After Trying to Impress First Date

It’s important to make a good first impression but going to jail won’t help you get a second date. A motorcyclist was arrested by police after he led them on a high-speed chase because he was trying to show off for his female passenger.

When Taylor Beverly blew a red light in front of a squad car, police began chasing him on his 2017 Suzuki motorcycle, which he also weaved in and out of traffic while running additional lights and speeding to avoid arrest.

Upon being apprehended at an intersection, Beverly said “he was trying to show off for his date.” Although the 23-year-old might have thought he was impressing his first date, his passenger later told police she was “screaming at him to stop but he refused.”

Beverly pleaded guilty to a felony charge and will serve two months in jail. In addition to the time behind bars, a judge suspended Beverly’s driver’s license for a year and ordered him to pay $700 in fines and court costs.

Court records show this wasn’t Beverly’s first rodeo. He has previously been convicted of grand theft, cocaine possession, passing a bad check, and probation violation. In 2019 after a motorcycle crash, Beverly was cited for reckless driving and driving an unregistered vehicle.
