Mercedes New was strolling around butt-naked on a midtown Atlanta high-rise balcony and most didn’t mind the view until he started urinating on people passing by. Nothing fuels rage as much as being drenched in another man’s urine.
New was taken into custody for public disturbance as the residents complained that it was a reoccurring problem where he was constantly relieving himself from a high altitude. It wasn’t a light drizzle — neighbors expressed frustrations that the flow of his urine was so strong that they considered using an umbrella to shield themselves.
Nearby workers added that New routinely walked outside onto the balcony naked and then relieved himself through the bars of his balcony. “Oh my God, it kind of exceeds the bounds of decency,” worker Anthony Henry said. “You would think that someone wouldn’t even do that in that area where you have people walking by.”
Some people feel shame and remorse for getting caught urinating in public. Others believe the act turned them into overnight superstars. New belongs to the latter category. “I’m famous! I’m on TV, bruh,” New said. “I didn’t do this, man. No. I’m innocent. I promise I didn’t do this.”
It’s not just the residents and workers getting the latest scoop on his shenanigans. New has an online audience on Instagram where he attracted just under a million followers. Police began investigating after receiving complaints and arrested New from his residence. It’s good news for the locals as they are spared from a stinky bath.
