A loaded diaper now has a whole new meaning. Security officers discovered 17 bullets hidden inside a disposable baby diaper at LaGuardia Airport in New York.
According to the Transportation Security Administration, officers pulled the diaper from the passenger’s carry-on bag after an alarm went off following a trip through an X-ray machine at an airport security checkpoint. Initially, the passenger claimed he had no idea how the bullet-filled diaper got into his bag.
The TSA identified the passenger as a man from Arkansas who was flying to Chicago’s Midway Airport. Port Authority police cited him for unlawful possession of the 9mm ammunition despite his suggestion that his girlfriend put the bullets in the diaper.
No further details have been released by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which runs the LaGuardia Airport.
