It’s not every day that a dog is the one behind the wheel in an accident. It turns out that a “reckless driver” that hit two vehicles in a Walmart parking lot was actually a pup.
The animal was sitting in the driver’s seat of a truck when it smashed into two others. The Kilgore Police Department discovered that the dog had been sitting in the unoccupied truck waiting for its owners who were inside the store at the time of the crash.
A number of things led to the accident. The pooch set the truck in motion when it “apparently got a little antsy and bounced around” inside the cab of the vehicle. The steering column had previous damage to it, which allowed the dog to put it into drive. The dog’s leash also got caught on the emergency brake, releasing it.
“It doesn’t sound feasible but an eyewitness saw the pooch behind the wheel just before the crash,” the Kilgore Police Department posted on Facebook. “He certainly has a guilty look on his face.”
The owner of one of the cars was shocked to see who was driving. He told the authorities that “the suspect was barrelling down on him” but he was unable to avoid the crash.
