Wedding planning is extremely stressful and most brides have to have their wedding dress perfect for their important day. One bride took a more unconventional approach to her wedding dress, snipping off part of it once she got too hot during the wedding reception.
Morgan Rusinko surprised her guests at the reception as she trimmed the floor-length gown to just short of knee-length. Posting a video of the wedding dress haircut on TikTok, she captioned the post: “Should I send this to my seamstress?”
The video, which has more than 5.7 million views as of this posting, shows a woman hand cut the bottom of Rusinko’s dress with a pair of scissors, leaving the excess fabric to pool around the bride’s feet.
Many people appreciated the video, labeling it as “iconic” and revolutionary for wedding dresses. Despite being a cool moment, the newlywed admitted that it wasn’t supposed to happen that way. “We forgot to bring my rehearsal dinner dress as a backup and I really planned on wearing my wedding dress the whole night,” she wrote in the comments of her video.
The now-viral clip, which documented the major wardrobe change, sparked several comments as people were torn over the idea. One person wrote: “Honestly that’s so cute, it doesn’t even look cute lol.”
Another added: “My first instinct was WHYYYY?? But honestly, it’s super cute and more important to enjoy your day than to worry about a dress you’ll never wear again!”
