Allen Lynch Jr., a 23-year-old man, was bragging about dodging the cops in a five-and-a-half-minute video that he posted online. He recorded himself speeding past the traffic stop and attempting to flee from the police. His video served as the perfect evidence for the officers in their case.
Lynch was pulled over by a DPS Trooper due to driving with an expired temporary tag on his car.
“It was brazen and it demonstrated that he doesn’t fully understand the responsibility that comes with driving a vehicle,” Lt. Craig Cummings with Texas DPS said.
The video reveals the confrontation with the trooper who stopped his car and engaged in a conversation through the passenger window. The officer informed Lynch of the expired temporary tag on his car.
Lynch explained that he bought the vehicle that day. The trooper requested his driver’s license and asked him to step out of the car. Lynch didn’t obey the orders and drove away.
The video shows Lynch darting past traffic at a high speed and taking an exit. “So y’all, I got away,” Lynch said. “I got away. Round of applause. Round of applause.” He may have got away but the wheels of the Dodge Charger were damaged during the escape.
According to Lynch, it’s his job to give the trooper a tough fight. Lynch was determined to make him work for every dime of his salary. “You think I’m going to make their job easier?” Lynch asked. “Their job is to catch us. Our job is to run away.”
“It puts lives at risk needlessly, and he had a cavalier attitude about it,” Cummings said.
He didn’t get away from the officials; Lynch was charged and arrested. He has posted a $10,000 bond.
Third time might be the lucky charm. “That’s like the third time they tried me, bro,” Lynch added. “They keep trying me, bro. I don’t know what they want from me that they’re not going to get. They have to catch me first.”
“Not only does evading place the community at large in danger, but it places the suspect in danger,” Cummings said. “It places the trooper in danger.”
