Three Men Caught in a $9 Million Meat Heist

Forget about the gold and diamonds. For meat lovers, bring on the trucks of beef even if it results in handcuffs. Delvis Fuentes, Yoslany Del Sol and Ledier Andino have carried out a multi-million dollar scheme targeting meat-packing facilities across the Midwest.

The trio stands accused of illegally transporting stolen goods and money laundering. It wasn’t a petty case as the criminal team caused more than $9 million in losses to meat producers.

According to the sheriff’s department, the three men were bold in their large-scale crimes. Lancaster Country (Nebraska) Sheriff Terry Wagner said that they drove away with filled meat trailers like they legally belonged to them. “They would just drive in, hook up to a trailer and take off. We were very surprised how brazen and wide-scale it was,” Wagner said.

If anyone stopped them on their mission, one of the three men would produce a bill of lading. These bills are legal documents suppliers issue to shippers, detailing the exact contents, destination, and other details of the shipment. According to the document, the men were allowed to be transporting the meat to another destination. The documents were misleading as they were a fake cover-up.

Now, the three have been arrested and charged. The trio is accused of committing 45 thefts across Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. The investigation is still ongoing.

The mystery remains unknown as this meat is more than enough to feed three hungry men. What did they do with all the meat?
