Trains Delayed by Swan Spotted on the Tracks

Commuting to work can be a lengthy process with many people being thankful when they get to their desired destination. Unfortunately, delays do still happen from time to time, making travel times even longer.

Some early morning commuters in England had their daily trips delayed for an hour when a swan was spotted on the train tracks. Passengers on Network Rail’s Wessex route said their commutes were delayed because employees told them a swan that made its way on the tracks in Staines, Surrey, around 8 a.m.

The Network Rail Wessex posted about the incident on Twitter. They included a photo of the swan after it had been safely removed from the train tracks. The caption for the photo read: “If you swan around on the railway, you get The Bag.”

The railway route was able to safely capture the swan and put it in a bag for restraint. The animal was then taken to a sanctuary for care.
