With Thanksgiving fast approaching in the United States, it comes as no surprise that turkeys are more active than usual. Although, breaking into a home is probably the last place they would want to be if they only knew.
A wild turkey crashed into a home in Ohio after breaking a large window to reach the inside. The Miami Township Police Department responded to the call from a resident who reported a turkey had entered through a window into her daughter’s playroom.
The police department shared their body camera footage from the call, which showed an officer with a net attempting to chase the turkey around the destroyed room. The officer was finally able to capture the turkey in the net but couldn’t carry it fully outside before the bird escaped.
To break loose, the bird crashed through the same window it used to enter the house and carried on its merry way. “Police officers get calls for everything but this was the first time we’ve been dispatched for wild turkey breaking into a house and then breaking out,” the Facebook post said.
