Two Escaped Emus Captured While One Remains Missing

Emus can cause quite a ruckus when they escape from their enclosures. In Ohio, two escaped emus were rounded up after wandering around loose but another emu still remains missing.

The Highland County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that deputies worked together along with the owner of the two emus to herd the birds back to their enclosure. The flightless birds were locked up tight in the hopes that they won’t escape again.

Highland County Sheriff Donnie Barrera said that a third emu, which doesn’t belong to the same owner, is still on the loose since its escape in mid-November. The emu has been spotted multiple times in the Hillsboro area.

The bird was even caught on camera by a resident as it was blocking traffic walking down the middle of a busy road. Locals and officials are unsure as to where this emu originated from. The owner has yet to come forward.
