Two Motorcycles for the Price of None

Attempting to steal one motorcycle is pretty risky business but going for two bikes is just plain greedy. A man was arrested when he broke into a Nebraska business and tried to steal two motorcycles.

The Lincoln Police Department was called to Frontier Harley-Davidson, off NW 40th and Highway 6, for a burglary at around 8:33 a.m. An employee called after they noticed a window had been shattered and two Harley-Davidson motorcycles were missing. One of the bikes was a FLHXS motorcycle valued at $20,000 and the other was a RH975 motorcycle valued at $13,500.

Authorities claim that the RH975 bike was found inside a trailer located on the business’ property, while the FLHXS bike was found on its side near the trailer. Merchandise and other items that had been stolen were also located inside the trailer.

Investigators said a 36-year-old man was identified as a suspect through security video at the business. The man also was still on the site when the employee who called the police had come into work. He was arrested during an unrelated call for service and is now facing burglary charges.

It’s estimated that the total loss in merchandise is $42,000 and the damage is around $4,700 for the business.
