Walmart Rewards Staff With 55 Cent Ramen for Working During Blizzard

Nothing says you’re grateful like a bowl of cheap instant noodles. A Walmart store in Illinois now faces backlash after they rewarded staff for working during a blizzard with ramen worth 55 cents.

In a video that was posted on TikTok, Millzy criticized the Walmart location she worked at in Rockford, Illinois. She said that her fellow employees worked during the snowstorm, which saw temperatures fall to -5 degrees Fahrenheit during the day.

Millzy added a screenshot in her video that showed a Facebook post featuring two workers standing behind a table stacked with cases of Maruchan ramen in the staff room. “Brrr it is cold outside. We appreciate our associates for braving through the cold to be here. Stay warm with some ramen noodle soup and crackers,” the Facebook post read.

Millzy went on to say that Walmart is a multibillion-dollar company that rewards its employees with cheap ramen when some people are walking to work in the freezing cold just to earn a paycheck.

Apparently, the Facebook post received so much backlash that it was taken down. Millzy ended her video by saying that she couldn’t imagine going to work when the city is shut down because of the weather. “I would be so mad; I would clock out and go home,” she said.
