Usually, when churches hold raffles, it’s for simple things like a dinner for two but this one might be for items a bit unusual. A New York church is gaining attention by raffling off a free AR-15 or a flamethrower.
The Grace Baptist Church of Troy posted a video on Twitter with Pastor John Koletas explaining the giveaway. The church is allowing one raffle winner to be able to take home one of the prizes at their annual revival meeting. The giveaway is set to happen over the extended holiday weekend of July 3 and 4, 2023.
The raffle winner has a choice to make too. If they don’t want the New York-legal AR-15, they can opt for a flamethrower instead. The funds from the raffle will help support the church.
The church has actually done similar giveaways like this in the past. It’s been about three years since they last gave away an AR-15 back in 2020. They have also done so before in 2014 and 2017.
