Florida Man Arrested After Hitting Roommate With Pizza Dough

Using food as a weapon is certainly a more unique idea. A Florida man was arrested after striking his roommate in the head with a wad of pizza dough.

Joseph Tresselt was making a pizza in the St. Petersburg, Florida, home he shares with Elvis Singleton when the two got into a confrontation. Investigators reported that the 32-year-old told police that his 62-year-old roommate “started making sounds like coughing, in a way that was to irritate him.” Tresselt also reported hearing “voices telling him how to make the pizza.”

Annoyed at the situation, Tresselt threw a piece of dough on the floor and “then threw it again at the victim,” hitting Singleton in the head as he was seated at the dining room table with his back to Tresselt. Police confirmed that there “was no visible bruising” to Singleton because of the dough strike.

Tresselt was arrested for battery and booked into the county jail, where he is locked up in lieu of a $1,150 bond. He was also charged with criminal mischief for allegedly breaking a piece of furniture in Singleton’s room.

Tresselt was also ordered to have no contact with Singleton and was barred from returning to the pair’s apartment.
