Customer Calls 911 Over “Pink BBQ”

When most people are searching for a BBQ joint to eat at, they know what to expect. One customer clearly didn’t understand how the cooking process worked and decided to call 911 after she discovered her barbecue was pink.

Clyde Cooper’s BBQ in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, detailed the story on Facebook saying that a woman ordered a standard barbecue plate with sides, paid for the food and then left. “Lady comes back and says her BBQ isn’t done, that it’s pink,” the restaurant said.

The restaurant employees tried to explain to the customer that their meat is smoked, which turns it pink. Even after a quick Google search, the woman was not convinced. “Lady continues to say, ‘It’s not done’ and ‘well you can cook it some more,'” the restaurant wrote.

Employees tried to offer the woman chicken in addition to her original order, which is when officers arrived at the restaurant. “Ten minutes after her receiving her chicken, the cops show up,” the restaurant said. “We had no idea she called the cops because, again, there was no real issue, everything seemed fine and we all had a good laugh about someone not being willing to listen to reason and teaching about the smoke process.”

The Raleigh Police Department confirmed that an officer did respond to a call at Clyde Cooper’s BBQ. “As no crime was committed, a police report was not filed and there are no further updates,” a department spokesperson said.
