Large Vintage Trunk Washes Up on Beach

Some interesting items have been discovered washing up on beaches all over the world. One of the more recent finds was a vintage steamer trunk from the 1930s.

Officials from the Fort Matanzas National Monument wrote in a Facebook post that the trunk was found washed up on a park beach near St. Augustine, Florida. The caption for the post read: “Today the social media world brought to our attention an item of interest that washed ashore on our park beaches. A team of park staff went in to investigate this suspicious package.”

The black trunk was confirmed to be a steamer trunk from the brand called “Neverbreak Trunks.” It was manufactured by L. Goldsmith & Son of Newark New Jersey. Officials are unsure as to how the trunk came to be in the water or how long it was actually in the ocean before washing up on the beach.

The real question is, was anything found in the trunk? “While nothing of interest was found within this trunk, it itself is a unique piece of history,” officials said.
