People can be quite particular when it comes to their food. An aggressive customer who claimed his food wasn’t cooked properly was arrested after he hit a Wawa worker with a piece of chicken.
The confrontation occurred at 1:20 a.m. on December 17, 2023, at a Wawa convenience store in St. Petersburg, Florida. Daniel Palomino became upset “because he believed that [the chicken] was not cooked completely.” He then confronted the worker “and responded by throwing the chicken on the victim.”
The chicken had been covered in a spicy Nashville sauce, which did get into the victim’s eye. According to police, the employee was okay and did not suffer bodily harm.
As for the 32-year-old, he was under the influence of alcohol when confronted by sheriff’s deputies. He was booked into the county jail on a misdemeanor battery charge but was released on December 19 upon posting a $500 bond.
Police did confiscate a baseball bat from Palomino, whose other crimes include convictions for cocaine possession, aggravated assault, theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal mischief, marijuana possession, and probation violation.
