Finding iconic signed sports memorabilia at a store or in a relative’s attic is one thing but discovering it by a beach is another. A group of volunteers managed to stumble upon the latter, finding signed sports memorabilia in the Bonita Beach mangroves.
While cleaning up a bunch of trash left over from Hurricane Ian, members of RebuildSWFL came across a valuable treasure. They found a signed Michael Jordan jersey, along with other sports memorabilia in the mangroves off Bonita Beach.
“WE FOUND MICHAEL JORDAN memorabilia, signed jerseys in the mangroves. THE GOAT! It was wrapped up, we almost didn’t realize until someone decided to unwrap these strange packages,” the volunteer group wrote on Instagram.
Although it was an exciting treasure to find during their clean-up, the new hunt is on to find the owner of the lost items. “I know it’s not in ideal conditions but it is still valuable and it could be valuable for the owner so it would be great to find him,” RebuildSWFL co-founder Nathalie White said.
