Criminals can find the most unique hiding spots when they’re looking to evade the police. A wanted woman was discovered by police hiding inside a hotel couch after she was on the run for drug dealing.
Stacy Usher was arrested in 2022 for selling fentanyl to a police informant in Citrus County, Florida. The 39-year-old pleaded no contest to two felony counts and was sentenced to 24 months of probation. This also included drug offender conditions that included random testing and a prohibition against consuming alcohol.
In October 2023, Usher was accused of violating her probation terms and a judge issued an arrest warrant for her. Police discovered the woman at the Bella Oasis Hotel in Homosassa Springs, Florida. To try to hide from sheriff’s deputies, Usher actually burrowed into a couch but still managed to get caught.
When she was removed from the furniture, User was booked into the county jail. She was later committed to the custody of Florida’s Department of Corrections.
