Woman Finds Her Own Missing Wallet Washed Up on Beach

Losing a wallet can be quite irritating but finding it can feel like the biggest win in the world. A woman walking her dogs on a British Columbia, Canada, beach was shocked to find her own wallet had been washed up with the tide.

Marcie Callawaert said she was walking with her dogs on the beach of an island where she and her husband live near Tofino, British Columbia, when she spotted the familiar-looking object in the sand.

“I knew right away,” Callawaert said. “It stopped me right in my tracks.”

Callawaert went to TikTok to share her incredible discovery. She had originally dropped the wallet into the water while boarding a boat in June 2023.

“Where we live, we don’t have a dock and we have to canoe to our anchor buoy where the boat is,” Callawaert said. “I had my wallet in an unzipped pocket of my backpack, I had forgotten to zip it. When I went to hop into the boat from the canoe, I heard a splash but I just assumed it was the way the water was splashing and I didn’t think anything of it.”

A diver search was sent out to look for the wallet shortly after it was lost but they were unable to find anything. Fortunately, the wallet, cash, cards and ID are still in pretty good condition after showing up on the beach. “The only damage is that the zipper was corroded,” she said.
