Disney to Release New “Alien” Book Marketed to Preschoolers

Disney is always trying to get the most out of its film franchises but this might be the strangest move yet. A book celebrating the 45th anniversary of the classic horror film “Alien” will be released and marketed to preschoolers.

The 1979 film directed by Ridley Scott is considered one of the scariest films ever made. As a way to make the franchise more accessible for kids, Disney decided to release a book titled “A is for Alien: An ABC Book” as part of the Little Golden Books line and illustrated by the Disney Storybook Art Team.

“In space no one can hear you giggle as you read this Little Golden Book featuring the characters from the classic movie Alien! Follow Ripley and the rest of the Nostromo crew on a space adventure that introduces the alphabet from A to Z,” the description reads.

This spooky adventure will be targeted at children ages two to five years old and comes just in time as the “Alien” universe continues to expand. “Alien: Romulus” will be hitting theaters in August 2024 as the seventh feature film the franchise has released. A new FX series based on the xenomorph-centric franchise is also likely to premiere in 2024.

“A is For Alien: An ABC Book” is set to be released on July 9, 2024, and available for pre-order for $5.99.
