The more chonk the better when it comes to cuddling furry friends. A Virginia animal shelter is looking for a new home for a rather large cat weighing in at an incredible 40.3 pounds.
Richmond Animal Care and Control said Patches the cat is currently on a special diet and exercise plan to help him come down to a healthier weight but that a new home would also do him some good.
“Did you wake up today and say, ‘Let’s adopt the largest cat anyone has ever seen?’ If so, we have the cat for you,” RACC wrote on Facebook.
On average, veterinarians determined that a domestic cat should weigh around 10 pounds, although that number can vary depending on the breed. Unfortunately, portly Patches seems to be missing that mark by quite a bit.
The RACC is hoping that a new owner will come forward to adopt Patches and help him continue on his weight loss journey.
