Giant Snow Globe Rolls Down Toronto Street

Event plans are always subject to change and nature has a way of altering things into a chaotic spectacle. An enormous inflatable balloon was set up for an event at the Yonge-Dundas Square in Toronto but the planners had to put the event on hold when the balloon came collapsing down before the scheduled display time.

Labatt Breweries of Canada, a beer brand, had been promoting the event online as a “chance for Canadians to play basketball indoors, protected from the winter elements.” After the set up came crashing down, organizers removed the promotional posts on social media. Clearly, this ball didn’t have any sort of protection from the strong winds.

Even though things didn’t go according to the plan, the crowd lifted their heads up in astonishment at the surprising sight. Photos of the display were circulating on Twitter by passive observers who were doing their own thing till the ball got their attention in a dramatic way.

The balloon was rolling down the busy streets with the gusty wind spinning it in different directions. The air was seeping through the ball, causing it to inflate. Fortunately, according to police reports, no one was injured by the huge ball or called for emergency assistance.

This sight is an interesting impression for a person new to the city. Ben, a tourist visiting Toronto from France, said: “These kind of things might be very strange for us. We are not used to seeing these kind of things.”
