Man Chases Black Bear From Crawlspace With Paintball Gun

During the winter, black bears like to have a safe, cozy space to take their long winter’s rest. A man had to evict a hibernating black bear from his crawlspace with only a paintball gun at his disposal.

Toogee Sielsch noticed he had a big problem at his cabin in South Lake Tahoe, California. When he went to visit, he noticed a huge black bear had decided the crawlspace would be the best place to hibernate for the winter.

Sielsch had other plans and he shared a video of exactly what happened on his Instagram. Armed with only a paintball gun and a flashlight, Sielsch crawled into the dark crawlspace of his cabin and fired eight shots.

Shortly afterwards, the massive black bear can be seen running out of the crawlspace. “I promise he’s just fine, and will surely find another, safer spot to overwinter,” Sielsch said.

The nature enthusiast urged not to try this if a bear does decide that a crawlspace might make a good home. “(Don’t) even think about doing what I did there unless you have years of training and experience!”
