Man Gets Caught Unloading Septage Into Vacant Lots

Disposing of waste can be a messy job but someone has to do it. A man was tired of doing things the right way when he was caught dumping over 500 pounds of septage into vacant lots.

According to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to 8382 Sweden Boulevard after a witness saw an elderly man drive a white Freightliner with a tank on the rear that read “Shoreline Sewer and Drain.”

The witness was able to record the man dumping what appeared to be a dark liquid with an odor into the property. The Punta Gorda, Florida, man saw he was being recorded and fled the scene but authorities were able to arrest him.

Fortunately, the witness recognized the man from the area and identified him as Mark Daniel Kudlach. They provided more insight to deputies and said that the truck is normally parked near Strasse Boulevard. When deputies took a walk through the 63-year-old man’s property, they located large puddles containing a dark liquid with a foul odor.

After further investigation, the report mentions that Kudlach was connected to another similar case. “Kudlach was suspected of illegally discharging sewage into a restricted Charlotte County Utilities lift station using the same truck captured in the witness’s video,” read the police report.

On January 9, 2023, deputies conducted a traffic stop on Kudlach where he was arrested for charges of Felony Litter Law.
