Missing Diamond Ring at Paris Hotel Found Inside Vacuum Cleaner

Losing a diamond ring is an expensive mistake no one wants to make. In a surprisingly happy ending, a diamond ring worth more than $800,000 that went missing from its owner at a Paris hotel was later found in a vacuum cleaner.

A Malaysian businesswoman reported to Paris police that her ring disappeared from the table in her hotel room at the Ritz Paris while she was out shopping. She originally suspected that it had been taken by a hotel employee who had cleaned her room.

Ritz employees searched for the missing ring, worth more than $800,000. According to hotel officials, security guards later discovered the item in the bag of a vacuum cleaner used by the cleaning staff.

Since the woman left for London from Paris and was not in the country when the discovery was made, the ring was given to the police to keep safe until the woman can return to collect it.
