A giant presence is capable of winning many hearts. Bobby, a street performer regarded as the tallest figure in New York, has become popular on social media for his extraordinary height. Every public outing consists of unique obstacles and people staring at him in astonishment.
For instance, a trip to the supermarket isn’t complete without people filming him doing his errands. After all, it’s rare to stumble upon a man who’s at eye level with the top shelves in the grocery store.
His social media presence is growing by the day as he is seen on trending videos with hundreds of thousands of followers.
Getting dressed isn’t an easy task for Bobby since most clothing stores don’t carry sizes for his height. He stitches multiple jeans together to be able to cover his long legs. Bobby finishes the look with painted shoes.
“I mean, my pants just appeared like this. Sometimes they fall apart and I have to fix them. My friend also made my shoes. They probably took a long time to make,” Bobby said.
The height comes with its challenges and he’s prone to head injuries. “I do hit my head a lot, though. You have to watch out,” said Bobby. “I’ve tried to take the subway but it’s a little bit of a tight squeeze. I can make it there but you have to duck. I’m not super-flexible so usually, I just walk everywhere.”
Bobby confirmed that his height is 6’0″. He uses his height to his advantage by engaging in activities such as apple picking and painting fences. He tried to play basketball since he can easily get the ball into the net, but there was just one problem — no one is able to pass the ball to him that high.
Bobby is passionate about music and he is seen in the video of Nick Leng’s song called “Bobby,” where he competes against kids in basketball and attends the artist’s show at Brooklyn Steel.
He is making big strides on the sidewalks and on social media.
